Hang on and watch for flying debris!
One of the best Duck Hunts I had last season at my blind in NorCal was in hurricane weather!
We got hit by a big Pacific Storm when I was at the club last January. Glenn County alone lost somewhere in the neighborhood 100 power poles and connected transmission lines. They were down all around me, the roads in and out were flooded and it was just Jack and I in our new travel trailer in our club compound. I woke up at 5 a.m. to the wind trying to flip our trailer but we know which direction the bad winds come from (S-SE) so we were set up for it. Jack and I stayed in bed till 8, got up, ate breakfast, then went drove over to our blind about a mile away.
The winds were at 80 mph at that point! The birds were EVERYWHERE! The hardest thing was walking out to our blind through the pond. Took me about 15 minutes to go 100 yards! I couldn't hit my ass if I tried as the birds flew over 'cuz of the incredible winds. By 11 a.m. it slowed to about 25-30 mph and the hunting was epic!
So what I'm saying GOB is go hunting!!
