I`ve an idea. Lets seperate church and state and give no secular holidays.
We have a teachers union in every system I`m aware of that bargains for their time off. They have New years, Labor and Memorial days, Thanksgiving, ect. Why not offer parents 2 extra days without penalty and let them decide which ones. The Jews won`t have to attend on Christmas this way nor the Muslems Easter. They can all have their own celebration. If a Christian misses on Hanaka (sp?) or a Muslem takes off Easter flunk them for not completing the school year.
If a teacher wants one of the days off let them use a vacation or sick day.
