I now have an update about Rage broadheads.
The two friends that I said swear by them have each taken a deer this year with the Rage heads. They are filming their hunts and I saw the two deer that did not go far and the arrow left a huge wound.
Then there was this past Saturday. One of the best deer they have seen in this area and the biggest they have seen on this land, walked right up to their mock scrape. The deer was 15 feet from the tree and they were about 20 feet up the tree. The shot was a little high but looked like a kill shot until you slow the video down. The arrow hit bone and went in less that 2 inches. The arrow was found 300-400 yards from the stand. Only one of the three blades opened and there was not enough blood for the dog to track from that point.
The deer was never found. My guess (and hope) is that the deer can recover from this wound. I am not sure if my friend will. He is sick over the whole thing. That night and most of Sunday he said he would never bow hunt again.
Sticking with my fixed blades,
Allen
