if you remove it you need to also delete the directory after you reboot, and yes you will lose your add-ons at that point. The defrag the computer and redownload and reinstall the current version.

I like google chrome because even without the add-ons it doesn't decide to just do whatever the heck it wants on random days the way firefox started doing to me. Also I like the incognito windows when at work because my nosey bosses don't get to look at a page history.
