Welcome to the group. I too have and alternate carry with a 1911 and a ole M19 4in that I have had for years. I use a Safari land pancake (med high rise) for the 19 and a jacket. CC jacket with a inside pocket for the 45. Just practice with your carry and pray to God you never need it!
The 19 will do you well......I do not recommend a steady diet of mags for general shooting.
