Welcome to the Forum; I see this is your first post.
You post you just bought a rifle and wondered it it would be ok for moose. There are moose and there are BIG moose and I wonder what was your criteria for choosing the .270? I have several .270s, many more .30-06s and a .35 Whelen. If I were going after moose, I would use a .270 if that was all I had.
