Old deer hunting attire...

I always liked the "Good Old Days" of hunting attire and arms. This PA deer season on the Monday after Thanksgiving I hope to dress the part. I just obtained a M1894 .30/30 Winchester Rifle with 24-inch octogon barrel made in 1919. I worked up some accuracy loads with IMR3031 and 150 grain jacketed bullets-that was the easy part.

About 30 years ago I was way up in Maine on a case and stopped by a general store. I saw a pair of high lace lumberjack boots in my size on the shelf. The price was $20.00. The boots have been polished and waterproofed. Last year the wife found two pair of Woolrich plaid hunting pants at Goodwill for $5.00 each in my size. One of the pants had "$9.50" on the tag. That had to be long ago.

My goal is to go afield this PA deer season dressed circa 1929. My wife has a digital camera and will post the photo here of me kitted out with the M1894 rifle. I still need to find the proper coat and hat. I have 7 months to get my kit completed.
