Was talking with a wholesale outlet not too long ago and they are telling me that Black powder will probaobly be phased out in the next few years. Shipping on it is getting ridiculous and insurance companies are dropping coverage. I know I know..black isn't a high yield explosive but you do know how bean counters think....and they are the ones(along with the gummit) that are going to cause the demise of black powder in this country. Pyrodex isn't too bad but that darn 777 is going to cause some problems in the future. Just my opinion..Creates a LOT more pressure than black or pyrodex. Just got 10 lbs of loose pyrodex in an estate sale. One can of cannon and a couple pistol size. That stuff is real fine. There are a couple other black substitutes out there that are not so hot either. New one out now too from IMR called white somethig or other. The companies are jumping all over new powders to supply the black powder enthusiast. Course you can make yer own Black. But the gummit will probably make it illegal
