We had a woman run here several years back as the republican candidate for state senate, but her stance on the issues was anything but!!! She was antihunting, antigun (voted against our new CC bill that was in the legislature at the time), pro abortion, pro gay marriage, ect, ect........she was so liberal and left wing, she made Nancy Pelosi look like Rush Limbaugh!
.....and, sadly, being a from a conservative district, she won easily, because people voted for the "republican" candidate and figured that she supported their views. She wasn't reelected, but she sure as hell did a lot of damage before she was booted out.
What nobody seems to be saying is that this election was decided not by democrats or republicans, but by PEOPLE WHO STATE THAT THEY HAVE NO PARTY AFFILIATION!!!! That ought to be a wake up call to BOTH parties....people are tired of career politicians that expouse P.C. crap in order to stay in office, and do little in the way of substance.

They should try to concentrate on one big issue at a time and just simply deal with it. Pass some sort of legislation to try to deal with it, and if it doesn't work then change it later on. Kind of like how social security and medicare need to be changed.
