I've seen it happen many times when someone has their bow cranked up for that flat arrow flight then the big buck appears out of nowhere. Buck fever takes over and they cannot pull the bow back. In New England a lot of our hunting is in cold weather and heavy coats. A little less poundage certainally will help you anchor a bow.
Then again if you feel you need the speed, go for it. JMO but 55 is fine.
