I got rid of my Benellis so can not get one out and look at it. I am always amazed that Benelli and Beretta are made by the same company. You know what I mean, I am sure.

Take the trigger group out and function the firing process, cocking the hammer, with the trigger pulled, then releasing the trigger. My money is on a badly done trigger job that has gotten the timing messed up. If the timing is close, but not right, it will fire and not fire, with no aparent reason. Look closely at the disconnect.

The lack of any firing pin strike means you hammer is not going forward 100% of the time, if the bolt is clean and nothing is bent or broken.
