I did exactly the same thing years ago to a .44 mag. autoloading carbine. I loved the sights but the gun ended up being a jammamatic. It's the only Ruger gun I have ever owned or had experience with that was undependable. My son's 10-22 has had thousands of rounds shot through it and I don't recall it ever jamming (at least when we used decent ammo).
