Had a pair back in the late 70's....they were given as a gag gift, but they worked rather well except that A.)They ate up batteries, as skeet has mentioned and B.) the batteries were D cells that fit in a little pocket on the side of the sock....not only were they heavy as hell, they also rubbed and left an abrasion on my legs when wearing high top rubber boots or waders.
