The trigger is pretty much a Winchester M-70 design. Shouldn't be too hard to adjust if that is true. Never worked on a Marlin so you will have to play it by ear on that one. Talk to a 'smith about the trigger. The gun is actually a nice rifle..better than the XL-7 IMO
