a shooting accident that didn't have enough injury
while hunting boar with dogs a lot of times we set up shooters to block runaway trails. The shooter in question (16 years old) was using a Winchester 94 in 44 rem mag. He was using ammo that his dad gave him to use. Dogs were chasing and tracking this boar that gave them a run for their money. Finally after an hour or he decided he didn't want to play anymore, and took the runaway trail to elude them. He came out into the open in a slow walk tired from the ordeal. The shooter took his time and planted one in the chest at 40 yards. The boar stopped, shook it off, and scurried away. The kid was dumbfounded and how he couldn't believe what just happened. He said it was the biggest boar he had ever seen. Once we all returned to the truck and heard the story I asked him to see his ammo. They were hollow points where the hole was so deep in the bullet it looked like it almost reached the primer. I later researched and found out they were CCI Blazer 44 SPL. The boar just laughed and shrugged it off.... I told him to have dad buy 44 Rem Mag ammo, and use these cartridges to shoot paper or rats, but he better double tap on the rats!
