Don't think it's right round the corner here. First frost on the ranch we hunt was almost a moth ago. 49 as I type this at 2200 hours (approx). De deers is getting winter coats here. The elk I saw last week up at the ranch were already in winter array. ..so were the wolfies. Way too many wolfies.. On the count we did on the bare slopes..107 elk one day.. 11 calves had made it this far.. Not a good sign..but the good ol boys are kinda takin care of some of the wolfie problems. For some odd reason all the old timers here think it's gonna be a long cold winter..again. Hopefully they are right.
