I can tell you first hand as I own 2 of them including the latest generation and they are NOT worth the price they charge for new ones. The big unit which has a remote control will be suited for a large bedroom tops. I have no idea where the company said you could heat a whole house with 2 units and I say they are full of it.

Yup, they use the same amount of electricity as a regular ribbon type heater but then shuts off when the copper plates are warmed up enough, though fan keeps running. But during winter time, it only takes 15 minutes to cycle the heat part again once the copper plates cool off and your no better than a conventional heater.

I would say you would be better off with a wood stove if your house insurance allows it, mine doesn't. But I can install an outside burner enclosed and have it piped inside.
