Tater..the price is so high because it IS a collectible. Most who have them won't sell for chump change....which for some reason is some little bit below the 400 dollar range. Sorry. It is really surprising..money and work is tight..and people are buying collectible stuff.. Guess they feel it is only gonna go higher.. I just sold a like new..actually was..Remington 788 in 6mm. Cost under 100 dollars new. Sold it for 750.. with a decent but not spectacular 3x9 Redfield Widefield. I had an extra new in package magazine that the guy bought for 100 dollars. Even in my opinion it wasn't worth what he paid..I did a dummy and actually puit a price on something i wanted to keep..He snapped it up. Stupid is as stupid does.. I put a ridiculous price on the rifle and he ..bought it...2 stupes in my opinion. If you can find one of those kniives..buy it. They ain't makin any more..and the price willonly go higher. I sold my sob..Gerber Presentation.. But hey..it was so pretty I wouldn't use it. I do have my father in laws Sykes Fairbairn knife?? he had from WWII. Issued to him by the Brit Commandos he fought with..before the war..well... our part of it in Europe. He had a certain attachment to it
