When I first read this question, the immediate memory was Indiana Jones. I let it rest and came back to the question and the same response hit me. But this time it occurred to me that it may have been in the movie with Sean Connery as the father. There was a good bit of that movie in a castle occupied by Nazi troops, Gestapo types, etc.
In the series there were several things that were just thrown in for fun, with little connection to reality. Sorta like Jollywood and its connection to O'Bozo with the fun removed.
