oh and by the way a buddy of mine inherited a single shot 12 gauge years back that had a pistol grip cut from the stock and a 6" barrel. Barrel was a old damascus relic. The pistol grip got tossed, the barrel got made into a heck of a hunting knife by a blacksmith and a new stock set and new barrel for the gun ran him in the $100 range. He still squirrel and birds hunts with that fine old gun.
Wish I had known you had it. Would have asked you to pound the barrel flat with a hammer and sell it to me for $10 for forge food. Not damascus in the old JC Higgins, but still REALLY good knife steel.
