Old adage in the retail business; "You break it you own it." If you had done the deed you would have owned it, so turn about is fair. Sad part of the story is that many shops today do not even have a person on staff that can change out parts. Used guns come and go, as is, the guys behind the counter have no clue about working condition.
At one time, years ago, every used gun in a shop was gone through to make sure it was in good shape before it went in the rack or in the counter.
