JPL wasn't really looking for an attaboy. Just kinda makin a statement that maybe we need to encourage the kids a bit more than we are doing and make 'em more responsible. That dad made his son responsible enough to discuss his purchase with him before rushing into it And guess what? It wasn't a video game..yippee. Yep there are still good kids out thee...but..I think most of them have really good direction from their parents which for the majority seems to be sorely lacking.

Did the little gun and western memorabilia show on Friday and Saturday. Friday was Slooowww. Saturday was pretty good. This was ina an area not too far from red Lodge Mt. But mostly working people. I learned a whold lot about old blue and green canning jars Friday. I think I might be mildly rich. I bought many from an old Catholic nunnery/retreat quite a few years ago and have sold a couple thousand over the years. But still have over 2500. In my barn storage back east. Bought lots of littles at this show. Lots of single dies etc. Lee loaders and a few older presses. Got an old boat anchor Herter's double ram press. Powder measure scale dies etc. The ol feller even gave me a hundred 30-06 Frankfort arsenal primed cases he got from DCM many many years ago. Still in the boxes with the order and receipt. I later sold them to a collector for about what the whole mess cost me. I thought it was a good deal for me cause I mighta wanted to load those darn things.. Got an odd barrel for a Contender in 223. Didn't pay all that much. bought a Ruger P-95 NIB..it had the blocked 10 rd mags but got 2 15 rounders for it new for 15 bucks...for both. Ugly gun.. Got another P-W shotshell press and 2 single stage Mecs with a whole bunch of stuff. Sold a bunch of stuff. Took 10 boxes of 22 LR 525 boxes..sold 5..This is working class area so didn't expect to sell 'em all. People are still lookin for .224 bullets to load the 223 and others. I sold a few but didn't want to sell 'em all cause i can't even get anymore at this time. But I got a bunch at the tables around the show. Quite a few of the Midway re-packaged. So if you go to the shows..always look at the Midway bullet boxes. You might be surprised at what ya find. Sold a really pretty Ruger #1 I have had for a while. Think I'm glad it is gone. Also bought an old Marlin M-39 rifle. In pretty good condition for an older gun. Had a Lyman peep on it cause it wasn't drilled for a scope. Didn't do that in the 40's. Sold it a bit later for a fair profit. I am not a lever gun guy. All in all a pretty good show for a small one and luckily it was just a 2 day affair. No shows to do for a month or so..but I will continue to go to 'em to buy stuff. Still lookin for that elusive S&W M-57 41 Mag in 4 inch.
