Well here it is, fitted it with a Boyd's thumbhole varmint as I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with it. Plus that Fajin stock was tearing my shoulder up, and here's a guy that shoots a lot of magnums. The 1" Decelerator was a godsend. After its first 1000 yard VBR match I'm definitely convinced she's a shooter. I actually have a Richards microfit benchrest stock coming now, but doubt it will be here in time for the next match, so I'll shoot the next one again using the Boyd's. I also weigh in at 12.5 pounds so might as well add the weight since I'm shooting against the 17lb gun shooters. She knocked down the 950 yd bobcats and 1000 yard coyotes like crazy, but I lost my rear on the 850 and 900 targets. I was using a straight 17x scope with a dot and the smaller close range targets killed me. You can see I've remedied that with a leupold that goes to x25 with fine duplex. Gotta say I'm IMPRESSED with the 230 gr bergers. Those suckers buck the wind and it was something to see the wind throw those 6.5 And 284 bullets around, but I was mildly effected. It took me a while to find the proper seating depth but this old girl and that load is impressive. What's even more impressive is that I have a little bit of nothing into this gun and its holding right up there with all those fancy benchrest guns that cost an arm and a leg. She isn't cheap to load but its worth it. If I get drawn for antelope this yr, this stock combo will probably be what I take (primary or backup gun)
So instead of buying and reselling, she's now my newest long range rig and soon to be bench gun.
