Best of luck on your quest. I used RIG (Rust Inhibiting Grease) to grease my arms while I spent 4 years in the USAF, 1962-1966. I have two vaults and found Military Spec Rifle Grease works fine. I clean my guns and use Mil Spec grease and some guns have been stored for 20 years and the exteriors and bores are rust-free.

I bought 4 one-pound coffee can-sized GI cans of Mil Spec rifle grease while in college circa 1970 and still have 3 full cans left and 50% of can #1.
