If you could win a free hunt to anywhere in Africa, where would it be and why?

I have no idea actually.. some where with a good population of plains game for sure.

I've never been there, so anywhere would be good!!

Boy grayghost, too many choices. But without doing a lot of research I'd have to say Cape Buff in the Limpopo Valley. Hear so much about that area it would be nice to experience in person. Maybe one day I can make that happen, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Depends upon the species your thinking of, but some areas will have around 15 species of PG. Other areas might total 50. Good place to start is South Africa or Namibia. Lots of PG and affordable. 5-7 day hunt would be cheaper than a good Whitetail hunt here in the States or Canada.

Dom, several places come to mind. Best price is Zimbabwe, but for shear numbers of Cape Buffalo, the Zambezi Delta of Mozambique. It would be cheaper than Zim if it weren't for having to charter into the area. I'm headed that way in September.

GG... an African hunt is not cheaper than a WT hunt for me... since I live right in the middle of the best WT hunting in N.A... but it is still a dream... one day, one day...

That scenario would be true toxic, and it's cheap here at home, but if I cross a State line; there's nonresident license and or "tags" (another way to scalp a hunter), transportation, lodging and food. I prefer to hunt guided as it pays in the long run for most out of area hunters. I see us being priced out of hunting. As I hear more and more: "hunting is for rich people." Sounds like the UK in the 14th century. How ironic

I have to agree there.. the non-res tags get ya..; luckily I have friends in 3 provinces that hunt.. so lodging & guiding is little to none... though gas sure gets us now..

There is no country in Africa, or place in any counrty, that is good for all species! The question would be far easier to answer if you had said where in Africa would you want to hunt for Buffalo and elephant, or Buffalo and Lion, or...............................

Anywhere that the Kudu are trophy class.IMHO a magnificent animal that would look great mounted over my mantel.

One of my PHs took a client to Limpopo, RSA this year and the guy shot a 62" Kudu. There are a few that come from that area each year in the 57" to 60+ range. Sometimes it's just a matter of luck but going where those older rams live is a big advantage. Hope you get to go someday.
