Revised Federal Form #4473
The current yellow Form #4473 has been changed and is longer and a different color (now white). I saw copies at a local gun shop yesterday and the BATFE instructions to start using it for all firearms transactions. All the best...

Gil,
Since we have "Instant Check" for a "GO" number for a firearm purchase now, just why is a Form 4473 needed, be it yellow or white? Is the form needed for a "hard copy" to complete backdoor registration by "Big Brother"? When was the last time a criminal completed a Form 4473 "for all firearms transactions" and got prosecuted?? Duh. Adam

When I got rid of my FFL after 27 yrs...I had to send the bound books and the 4473 forms to the BATF in W Va. They keep them there on microfiche or some such thing. I was told that they keep them forever. That is registration by regulation. I sent them all the information that they needed to have. Scarey if you know what I mean. Dealers have to keep their records for 20 yrs
