Well, I gone and done it LOL. I finally got my Mulie Buck today. We shot a MD doe this morning and went to check out a new area. As we are driving one of our party says "Deer" and we see that they are Mulies. So I burn a sh*thook and pull into a lease road. We look over the deer and see that one is chasing the others and figured he was the buck, sure enough it was. I ask one of the group for their rifles(a 30-06 w/3-9x40), now keep in mind that I had never used his rifle and I looked through the scope at 9 power and the deer was kinda small(body size due to distance) and I figured he was roughly 375-400yds away. I held what looked like about 8-10" above his back to compensate(sp) for bullet drop. At the shot he staggered back up the hill and IME keep shooting till he drops........well I did 3 of the 4 shots (the 4th was not nessesary cause he had fallen by that time but I could still see him moving). The buck weighs about 250 live weight and about 50 lbs less dressed(did we have a chore putting him in the truck). He's a non-typical 4x5 that should run about 120-130. After dressing him out and putting him in the truck, I used the rangefinder on the wellsite shack and it read about 380yds, the road where I shot was a little further back as it angled to the road and we were basically beside the spot where I hit the buck the first time. WOW was it a blast !!!
