Just a BIT of excitement...
Came home from a nice lunch with friends a couple hours ago, and while I was changing into something a bit cooler, heard a lot of sirens. Then heavy rotor beats.
Uh oh. Yup, some idiot managed to start a wild fire only 300 yards or so from my house. With Utah being the location of what is being called the biggest wildfire in the world right now (500+ square miles and growing daily!!!), plus at least eight other large fires, you'd think people would hesitate to use ILLEGAL fireworks, right? Wrong. Morons. We had two water choppers, an overhead fire boss and a converted crop duster dropping water. No danger to me or mine.....yet. Keep ya posted, gotta go watch...

Quick update. It seems to be out. The high air boss is still circling, but the choppers, firetrucks and such have gone.
I can't see how much burned because it's a bit above me and two streets away. WHEW!!!

The air boss was in a slick twin turboprop Commander, the two water choppers were Jet Rangers. I'm not familiar enough with them to ID the converted agri-plane.
