Last Minute Ram/Hogg Hunt Invite

Hi All, I am in the Phoenix area and I'm thinking about a 1 1/2 day trip to the Big Horn Canyon Ranch just outside LA California. I'm thinking about leaving Saturday afternoon (1-21-05)and driving over. Spend the night at a local Hotel and hunting all day Sunday(1-22-05) then a quick drive home....

At this Ranch they have a large variety of exotic Ram and both Ferrell Pig and Russian Boar. There are NO Permit or License fees!!! Costs are $25 if No animal taken, $325 for Ram or Ferrell Pig and $390 for Russian Boar.....

Looking to split gas and ride over with some new friends...

Please send me an quick e-mail for more info if you are interested...

The Hunt went GREAT!!!! I went out the night before and camped out...It is a Beautiful Place!!!! We (My Wife and I) got up at about 5 am and got ready. At about 6 am we went out with the other hunters that where there. We scouted around for a couple hours and saw MANY different Rams and Pigs!!! Finally I found just the right Ram. He was a nice Black Hawaiian!!! I took aim at him and just as I went to pull the trigger my wife said "WAIT!!! Whats that?" I took a quick look at it was a Very Large Corsican (about 140 pounds) and at Exactly 91 yards. He was Beautiful. I took aim at him and pulled the trigger! BANG! My Trusty Savage Striker in 22-250 sounded off. It was a direct lung hit! The 55 grain Trophy Bonded Bear Claw had found its mark! The ram jumped up and fell over DEAD!!! The Bullet had gone straight thru the Ram and blew out 4 entire ribs for a exit wound! I am very impressed both with this caliber and bullet!! The only down side to this trip is that my wife has decided she would like to start hunting!! Now I have to share the hunt funds! It sure is GREAT to have a wife that likes this kind of stuff! Well, I am planning a group trip back out there the end of March so if anyone is intersted Please let me know. Here is a quick pic of the Ram....

Yes, The head is at the Taxidermist as we speak!!! I processed the meat myself. The sausage I made is awesome! The ribs went on the BBQ last night. Pretty tasty!!!! Next hunt is February 19th and 20th... All are welcome to join. As a matter of fact a group of about 10 people will be going with me this time for an overnight camping/hunting trip. It will be a Blast!!

Dang. I missed out on all this fun. Do you have contact info for the ranch. Might be a good alternative if I don't draw any tags here in AZ. Antelope (Yeah right! Dream on.) Deer, (Well maybe) Elk. (Fat chance.)
Nice ram BTW.
