Internet Question

I brought this up once before I think but I have a question to you computer guys.....If I use google and search my username "Valigator" I got over 600 hits of where my name was used and even my real name with my e-mail address....most of you know I am on some pretty contoversial websites...one of which has some pretty bad boys on it..along with PO's, police officers...etc...Last month....I had a verbal confrontation with one of these beast and he seem to know an awful lot about me....after researching all the combination of names...I figured it wasnt that hard to figure out.....my question is....how does one remove themselves from some of these hits.....I mean even some of the most obscure comments pop up on these searches...why is that? Now dont get me wrong....I dont usually post anything I cant back up....and I am not scared, cautious, not scared...but you can bank I am carrying more firearms in more places than ever before....any suggestions for a not so literate computer girl?

With tools like AnyWho available on the net, it almost doesn't matter that you are also found numerous places on search engines. Anybody that really wants to find out who you are and where you live, can.

From what I've seen you post, I think they have a lot more cause to worry about you, than you do about them. You don't sound like the kind of person that dials 911 and waits.

I agree with Denton.

there are several search engine programs out now, that can access _any_ public records, be it property listings, court documents, white and yellow pages, etcetc

there is one place, that does searches, linked to the yahoo people search, for $100 and usually 2-4 days, they will provide a persons entire public records for the last 20 years, if i remember correctly.

Thats a n y t h i n g in public records....house puchases, vehicles, land purchase or rentals, court dockets, any unsealed court documents, you'd be very surprised what can be had if you knwo where to look.

The best defense, as always, is simply common sense, and being aware that this information is available on any particular person at anytime.

and Val, Denton is right about you being able to handle yourself.
that vast majority of these "beasts" are simply talking out their ass to look big. Of the few who actually aren't talking out their ass, handle them the same way you handle a 13 foot gator

Back to gettin serious...I have always locked a door behind me...I have loaded guns in every room....I have cued my dogs since puppies...whats an OK noise and not an OK noise....my landscaping is done for no surprises...I dated cops for goodness sakes to ensure added safety....I was single for many years raising a child...and slept with a knife velcroed to my headboard...I back into my driveway everytime I come home...alarm systems...I could go on and on....my point is...I was totally flabbergasted when I ran that search.....without going into all the details...you know the guys I go after on a daily basis....and I hit them hard....my guy said, after reading a few weeks ago what one guy wrote, " one day Val, one of these guys is going to kill you"...I dont think it ever dawned on me that I wasnt as anonymous as I thought I was....oh well I am sorry for even bringing this up...it was just eye opening for me...I guess it boils down to mean what you type and type what you mean Uh?

Careful or Paranoid: There is no doubt you have to be aware of what is going on around you all the time as we are not Loved by everybody we toutch thats for sure. As you know some of the things I am involved in recently and that drug dealers don't like having their doors kicked in. Guess what I am trying to say is be careful but don't let it cross over to the paranoia side because then you really need to get away from it.
Just be "careful" .

Val, a good dog is probably more value than any number of firearms or alarms. When you've raised them, and taught them, their basic instinct is to raise an alarm if there is an intruder, and to protect you.

In our house, my wife is the worrier. So, one year, I got her a nicle little DA 38 for Christmas. I told one of my friends at work, and he just looked at me, very disgusted, and said, "Never give a woman a firearm. Give them perfume, give them clothes, give them jewelry, but never give them a firearm." Then, he grinned, "You never know if you'll be the one they shoot."

No defense against intruders is perfect, and, past a certain point, you can spend a lot of effort without getting a lot of improvement.

Oh... get yourself Spybot Search and Destroy. It will take spyware off your computer. If you spend any time on the web, you have spyware on your computer. 99% of it is benign, just deciding which ad you are going to have popped up, but there is that malicious 1%.

You know one thing about dogs is they have NO conscious on who the heck they bite and a few years in the business I can tell ya the dog will take care of you just fine.
It's amazing that the perps know this and will back off real fast if attempt at all any threts towards you.
