First internet rifle purchase
Well it finally happened. I saw some military rifles for sale on an internet site and started sending emails. I was focused on a Kar98k reworked by Yugoslavia in mint condition with matching numbers. I haggled over the price and got it down a bit. Then I sent a local dealer's FFL and a check. Yesterday, I picked up the rifle and did the 4473 and the background check. The gun is exactly as described, everything matches and it has an original sling.
It was a bit of a stretch for me and a crap shoot, but everything worked out just fine. I am not eager to repeat the process. Anyone else have an internet purchase experiences? All the best... Gil |

Well, Gill! Who was it? You gonna keep em a secret or can some of the rest of us get in on it. I'd give em your name, maybe you'd get a discount on your next purchase. I didn't know you could haggle with those folks.

Dog Yeller
It was a private individual that I was dealing with, not a surplus arms dealer. He still has a No. 4 Mark 1 Enfield, but someone else wants it. I have a number of Enfields so that is OK.
There is a local surplus arms dealer who has a lot of stuff and he does discount. I will send a PM to you. All the best... Gil |
