Model 70,

I am willing to bet that this man is quite a bit older than you, and like you, he probably asked a lot of questions when he was your age.

I knew absolutely nothing about reloading when I was 18. By the time I was 24, I knew quite a bit about shotgun reloading. I knew absolutely nothing about bow hunting until I was 27. Learned a little bit about it in a year or two and killed a couple of deer with my bow. Never did any metallic cartridge reloading until 5 years ago and now I know a little bit more about it than I did 6 years ago.

If you love something, you will learn about it. Kind of like the way you have learned about the .270 Win. Now, you just need to learn about some of the other cartridges out there. LOL

I just turned 34 earlier this month and intend on learning a lot more during the rest of my life.

M70, I've been reloading since your parents were children.

More importantly, I've been reading about it for even longer - and I still read almost everything about it. If I can manage to remember even a few percent of what I read, it's still a goodly store of knowledge - or at least facts. Knowledge comes from the application of facts.

Somebody said that experience is the knowledge you get just a little bit after you needed it. Some things about reloading and shooting still surprise me, so I guess I'm still learning.

"Just joking, but seriously!!!!!" (from Dodgeball)

I took your post as humor and even tried to throw my own in there about you having to learn about cartridges other than the .270.

While you think we missed your humor, I think you are missing ours. The internet is a tough place where things can be taken out of context.

My sister and I have argued over e-mails because we both thought the other was serious about something in them when it turned out that both of us were joking.'

Unless somebody comes out with something really hard and mean, I tend to think that everybody is joking on here. I can kind of tell when somebody is flaming.

hey guys

i'm just the opposite, i take everything in life seriously for the most part, unless a punch line comes along. the last two sentences of m 70's post were the punch line. so i knew he was kiddin' around. in my former employment things had to be taken seriously, if they weren't either somebody or you died.

i'm sure rocky would be the first to tell you he doesn't "know" everything but he does know where to look for a link to viable information due to his broad educational backround and experiences.

i have found as i age that the brain is like a computer in that it can only store so much info, then lesser used facts have to be replaced to make room for more facts. and no, i do not have oldtimers disease. i just wish this old body was as sharp as my brain. but as one of my heroes once said "i'd rather burn out than rust out". i'm going to keep bustling along as long as possible. by the way that was george burns who said that.

i'm very protective of those who i like and if i thought there was an insult to '70s post i would have been in his face protecting rocky.

so just remember, don't insult my friends and fellow vets. i am true to my german name. wilhelm,(william), "the protector".

m-70, keep reading and absorbing firearms info for the next 40 years then you might be as smart as rocky.

ok, i think the humor is getting sucked out of this one guys. one thing about the internet is, you can't type specific emotion so it's all up for anyones interpritation.

hint:the title of the thread was a tip off on the humor.

ok, i'm done.lol.

Rocky is VERY knowlegable about all things gun. I know I hold him in very high regaurd personally.

Actually, with everyone that I have had the pleasure of meeting or talking with either in person or on the net, there are three that can pretty much tell you anything you need to ever know.

Rocky, Shaun Frame and Blaine Eddy.

If those three cant answer your question, or find out really quick, it probably has no answer or is irrelevent in the first place.

Keep up the good work Rocky.

Andy
