AK..

It's still cold here. Our river hasn't broke and I'm going nuts. On our annual beaver hunt, I'll bring my gun along, but that usually means we won't see one.

WE cruised the beaches during low tide. Some boats did not see a thing. At the same time we did not put 100% effort into looking for bears. The shrimp pots and senary kept us busy.
My friend missed can't explain one of those thing it just happened. It looked good and felt good but missed, I was about a 175 yard shot.
I might go back. I headed this weekend to Homer. for some halibut.

When would you consider it to late to go out for bears? I just got back from whitter and brought home over 200 shrimp. I did two sets. No bears. This time I just hung around culross pass and main bay. Slayed the Yelloeye. Need to find a spot for halibut. I did go to Homer this past friday and the 5 of us caught well over 60 halibut. Work hard to find decent fish, but finalyy came home with some 50's,40's, 30's and 20# halibut. I heading to homer again this friday. I'm going to do a overnight on the water so we can get 4 halibut. What did you apply for on permits?

GARY I WOULD HUNT THEN TILL THE END OF THE SEASON ENDS THE 10TH THIS YEAR. ONE OF MY BUDDY'S ARROWED A VERY HEAVY BEAR ON THE SECOND. ONLY SQUARED 5'9" BUT HAD 1" OF FAT ON IT'S BUTT AND WOULD GUESS IT AT 250 ++.
WE ALSO GOT ANOTHER 200 SHRIMP AND 2 OCTOPUS. YEARS AGO I KILLED A BEAR ON 4TH OF JULY IN COPPER CENTER AREA TEMPS IN MID 80'S HIDE WAS FINE.

NOT HARD TO KILL THE YELLOW EYE....LIMIT IS ONE ....2 IN POSSESSION. SAD YOU CAN'T REALLY RELEASE THEM WITH GOOD SURVIVAL RATE.
PWS IS SO DEEP CAN BE TOUGH FOR 'BUT I LIKE LONE AND NAKED ISLAND. MY BEST AREA IS ACTUALLY CLOSER TO SEWARD....90-100 GALLONS OF FUEL ROUND TRIP$$$$$$

AK PERMITS HAUL ROAD MOOSE, LATE SEASON FT RICH MOOSE AND DELTA BISON.
I DREW LATE SEASON ARCHERY DEER TAG IN COLORADO.
