2007 Season

I threw together a short clip of "some" of the video during my 2007 archery season. I managed to fit a couple weeks of hunting into roughly 6 minutes of video put to one of my favorite soundtracks. There's no way I could fit all my deer sightings in a "short" clip, so these are just a few I thought I'd share.

Downloader beware as it's about 15MB. Click the link and grab yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy some of my experiences in the stand.

Because of the length and size I generated a streaming video on a lower resolution so you'll get a clearer image if you minimize your media player.

Even though I hunted with a recurve, you can see I let a lot of bucks walk right on by. Hope you all enjoy!

That music is from my all time favorite movie "The Last of the Mohicans". Great vid Petey- if that's the highlights I wonder what the rest of the time was like- looks like lots of action.

Thanks guys.

It was a pretty eventfull season to say the least. I really enjoyed hunting with a recurve this year. Every deer in this video was under 20 yards and could have been taken at any time. Many bucks never made TV on acount of rain. I didn't even bother bringing the camera on those days. (Yes I hunt in any weather!) I'm not sure of the exact total of legal bucks I passed on, other than I know I stopped counting after the second week around 12. I had my heart set on an absolute monster that kept me holding out till the last day. I ended up taking the 4th buck I saw on the last day (2nd in range). I'm sure I would have saw more, but I was happy with what walked in front of me. It was a great hunt for my first recurve kill and picture perfect as I watched him fall less than 60 yards from the shot.

I have some pretty funny out takes, like the grouse that kept me company in the early season. He kept coming back each night to say hello and gave me a couple good laughs as he would strut around in the limb above my head.

I kept the video of the really good bucks out of this clip as most were minimal footage as I was scramblin to run the camera, grab my bow and run a call all at the same time. Sometimes, I enjoy running the camera and videoing the little critters that scramble about the forest floor as much as releasing that arrow or pulling the trigger. Wow, that's almost poetic.

I'm sure I'll have lots more to share in a few weeks, as I'm headin to IL again for spring turkey. I have a full plate lined up this season, so can't wait to get started on a new year.
