I should have been a cowboy !!
![]() The short guy is my grandfather, worked on the Dotson ranch in CO after WWI after going bust homesteading around Pueblo. The tall man is not named, but says he was 6'6" , and both pistols look to have hide around the grips. My grampa came back to Wisconsin before the depression and worked as a machinist during the second WW. I wanted one thing from my folks at Christmas, this picture.

Pretty Cool Old-school Pic!
I learned something today. I had no idea that they used Poodle Chaps anywhere outside of the small circles in West Hollywood! ![]()

TreeDoc,
I suspect the chaps in the photo were "props" used by the photo studio for the sake of pictures. Notice: the chaps are too clean and show no wear? Adam

Polished dress shoes showing below the chaps gives this photo away as a posed with props type of photo. However it still is an excellent old photo of an ancestor.
Please write who it is in pencil on the back so when you are gone your grand kids will know that it is their 2 G grandfather. I see pictures every day that are of someone unknown in my family. A name on the back would have ment everything when doing family reserch. Best, Ed
