Dueling pistols

Can anybody here give me a link or a name of a book that has particulars as to dueling pistols, i.e. weight, caliber, were sights used, powder charges, what locks were used, ect? I'm looking for accurate, historical references, please....not conjecture or opinion.
Thanks in advance..........

Mr. 16 gauge,

I read an article a while back on dueling pistols; I think it was in "Muzzle Blasts", the magazine put out by the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.

As I recall, duellers were smooth bore, about .50 caliber and some had set triggers. Maybe googling NMLRA will help in your quest.

I suggest you do a web search for history of dueling pistols. Dueling pistols were used for about 400 years so there are lots of variations. All the best...
