British .303 Enflields
What has your success been with finding clean, accurate,
.303 Enfields? What are the going prices for the ones that are in excellent to mint condition when they can be found? Thanks, Cherokee Cowboy

Cherokee Cowboy,
I have found many nice MkIIIs, No.4 Mk1s, Jungle Carbines and P-14s, But I began looking in 1958. Lately, the only decent ones I have seen have come out of India. I got a mint No.1 MkIII made in 1949 last year. The days of the $12.95 Enfields are long gone like 25-cent a gallon gasoline. Excellent British rifles will go for $300 and up, if you can find them. Best of luck. Adam

It depends what you prefer
The gun shops that I visit usually have No. 1 Mark III (WWI) and No, 4 Mark 1 (WWII) British Enfields. Prices for these rifles vary depending on condition and generally run from $150 to $300. I bought a mint condition Canadian Long Branch No 4. Mark 1 Enfield for $220 last week. There are online sites that list Enfields and a search will turn up what is available and prices. All the best...
