Talking Got me a possum!

Well I wish I had been able to get pictures of this old boy last week, you would not have believed how darned big he was. He was on the front porch tearing into a bag of garbage, and when I poked the bag with the old single shot I wasn't expecting anything half his size to come waddling out like he owned the place. Federal 20 gauge 2 3/4" 7/8ths #6 put him to sleep right proper. I was so jacked up for several days afterwards that I almost considered going coon hunting despite my bad health. Family talked me out of it, but man. The smell of burnt powder, the sound of the ejector on that old H&R, the rattle of the plastic hull hittin the porch..... good Lord willing I'm going to get my health turned around one of these days and put a fear into the vermint population around here again!

God Bless

Richard

Then you might want to be aware that the full story of this particular bugger, AND alot of other short stories will soon be available in my new book. I don't have a release date yet as I am still in rewrites, but Good Lord willing and the creeks don't rise it will be before the the end of April.

God Bless

my son's pit/mix killed a 13 pound possum the other night. The critter was raiding his hen house, and the dog went THROUGH the fence, and killed the beast with one bite and shake.
