Tanz Trophies

Hello guys Im new but hope to get some imput.I have been to Africa 5 times and am totally adicted to African hunting .My problem now is this Last year I went to Tanznia for a 21 day hunt as many of you know this is a very costly hunt it has now been 9 months and I have no trophies ,they apparently havent even left Tanzania.My hunter states that the government is holding things up,having been to Zim 2 times and SA 2 times I have never had this kind of hold up.One trophy that I really worry about is the 72x74 lb ele and lion as well as leopord.I have the apporiate CITES permits that are about to expire Im renewing those.ANY suggestionas to who I could contact in Tanz for help.

Welcome to the forum.

I think the best people to contact are the outfitters who you hunted with.

If I am not mistaken, they have to take care of your trophies shipment to you. At least that has been my own experience.

I had my trophies held up in Zimbabwe for 18 months because the fellow who processed the paperwork was irritated with a relative of the PHs and he wanted the PH to "make it right" before he would sigh the papers....frustrating for me and thankfully everything, including my leopard, made it thru OK.

Jim,

Who was your PH and who has your trophies? I have a similar issue ongoing now for 2 years. I went to Tanzania with Ian Cundhill Dodds and Intercon is STILL HOLDING MY TROPHIES!

Have you resolved your issue - and if so, how did you do it?

My problem is that Intercom says that Ian Dodds never paid the trophy fees - but I more than adequately paid up front.

Let me know how your situation turned out.
