Air rifle's back out again!

I'm going rabbiting this afternoon and just taking the air rifle,.....I need a challenge!
It's funny how things 'come around' again, the air rifles have been little used this summer but I feel excited about using one on rabbits again!
Just thought I'd let you all know!

From everything that I have read here Rabbits where UKFoxman is at must be oont the vartmit list. Where I live if someone. shot that many rabbit we'd accuse them of breaking into a rabbit farm

FOXMAN,

When you gents apply for a FAC, is that good on just ONE rifle, or as many as you want to own?

Hi All,

There are six slots on the application, however there is nothing to stop you applying for as many as you like. However in reality one your first grant you would be very lucky to get more than 4 slots given and you would have to have good reasons for them. The Police don't like us having guns at all and having more than a few.............. well they really don't like that. Some counties are better, more reasonable than others so it can depend where you live. Sussex is a real pain in the Butt with a rapidily anti gun Polcie chief and firearms department head

I think the most I have put on in one go is 8 rifles, however I am running out of space to fit more in so I have reached about my practical limit. Once you get more than 12 guns total the police start making big noises about alram systems being installed and trying to make it as expensive and awarkward for you as they can, you have to be prepared to satnd up and argue your case with them even to the point of fighting it in court. In law there is no actual limit to how many guns you may own or hold, but the police don't see it that way and try and make the law up as they go along

Hope that helps

Smile That helps me understand, yes.

The smiley is for you taking the time to expound, NOT for the situation you face over there.

At least you don't have to go through this every time you want to get a FAC level rifle. It's a lot easier to submit a .22Long Rifle, a PCP, and a big springer on the same card...in one swoop.

Hi All,

Err Victor, Air rifles are limited to a maximum of 12 ft lbs muzzle energy. Any more than that they go on the firearms certificate and have to be applied for and approved like any other firearm. The means of power makes no difference, be it spring, CO2 or precharged compressed air.

I personally don't have any firearms rated Air Rifles, I do have three sprig powered ones though which require no licences at all, they are :-

Feinwerbau Sport 127 .22

BSA Meteor Std .177

Hanel Mod 302 .22
