Sheds

Here's a pic of the best Elk shed I've found, me and my buddy used to comb the Pigeon Forest in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan every day in early spring. Don't know if it's true anymore, but at that time (late 70's) the Elk heard was the largest East of the Mississippi River. We found quite a few, most were nothing to write home about. I found this one and we spent days searching for the other half but never found it. I threw it on a board and it's kinda neat to hang on the wall, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

My dad told me he walked into an old store somewhere in Colorado and there on the floor was a perfect set of bull elk sheds, embedded into some kind of tree. He said it looked like the elk had shed its antlers into the fork of a tree somehow, long ago, and the tree grew around the antlers. Sounds like an awesome find to me.
