SKUNK klunkin'
We got waaaaay too many skunks around here.
In theory, if you made a head shot on a black-n-whiter, would it the prevent the scent gland from spraying, or is it kind of a automatic pilot thing? Thought I would ask before taking the shot..................Jon

A head shot will likelyget ya sprayed.
SUPPOSEDLY a lung shot will not get you sprayed. |

I have shot them in the head trapping before and never got sprayed, That was years ago. But I have shot them in the Lungs too and never got sprayed. Just try not to get a gut shot.

I don`t think it makes much difference where you shoot them. Once in a while one won`t srpay, but 95% of the time they do. Just make sure your out of their range when you shoot them.

My advice would be never shoot a skunk if it is anywhere you don't want sprayed.
All tales about how to shoot one so it won't spray are myths. Many will, some won't, and you can't tell until after the shot. L.C. |
