You can just about bowhunt for anything
After the the deer season is over in the spring and summer I still hunt with a bow to keep up with my accuracy
I mostly shoot starlings and i can actually get them to decoy over wooden silhouettes that i made and when they land i shoot them with Judo points or bludgeon tips as some call them It is very fun to do on a boring day in the backyard

Man, that is neat. I don't know how I missed your post until now. What type of design did you use for your wooden decoys?

i was at a wood craft store andf i came across some piping plover silhouetes mounted on a platfrom by a wooden stake
So i bought 16 of them brought them home saw off the platform so that the stake is just left then i painted the silhouettes black and painted the beak It's a total blast to do on those boring hot summer days I also shoot them with a pellet gun when i feel like cheating

I dont hunt Bird's (Except Turkey) with my Bow, But I shoot at a Kickball Target all year round, It has really helped me with Judgeing distance.
Cool idea with the Bird decoys, I Might have to try that.

My mom and dad bait those starlings. They actually feed the other desirable birds, but when the starlings show up, they get out the pellet gun that shoots 1400 fps and has a 4 power scope.
This should get Mom back into shooting her bow. |

What a great way to get some shooting in.
