Deerdog is back
Wow, alot has changed. I have been gone for a while on military business (if you know what I mean) but am now back. I retired not long ago after 21 great years and am living up here in Northern VA - Stafford. I checked the site from time to time. Did get to do some deer hunting over X-mas and got two with the gun but nothing with the bow. Va Shadow, I also did some bowhunting in your back yard - Quantico but didnt get a shot. Saw a bunch though including one huge 8 pt.
Great to be back!! Deerdog

Never thought I would see GB's name around here.
Deerdog, You can I don't live too far away if you are in VAshadow's backyarg. My fiance used to live in Herndon, VA. If I'm not mistaken, Quantico is right down I-95 in VA.

Fabs,
You are correct. Quantico is actually on both sides of 95 - between Manassas and Fredericksburg. Herndon is closer to DC. I am originally from southside Va (Fort Pickett area - which has some excellent hunting). I do most of my hunting down there as well as alot of private land in southside Va. Will scout out Quantico this year as a buddy of mine has been here for five years and is pretty familiar with Quantico. I love my new job but this traffic is crazy.

I love this area, but I truly hate the traffic. I hate the way people drive and the mentality that they are more important than everybody else. However, I drove in New York City over the holidays and it is much worse up there.
