anyone hunt in areas 12 or 39 this year in co? I am thinking of using my preference points and drawing into one of these areas for bow season next year. Really don't want to waste my points if the area suck!Lol Would really appreciate and help.

Never hunted either, but I have hunted right next to unit 12. I believe it's over around Meeker or East of Meeker right? I hunted around Yellow Jacket Pass before in rifle season on private land. Isn't 39 over on the Eastern part of the state? I know I drove through there on my way out last year and it seemed more like farming country than elk country. Maybe I'm thinking of a different unit.

Is 12 in the Flattops? From what I hear of that place there are elk everywhere and archery is the best time to hunt it. I may be picking up a new sponsor in this area. I'll be finding out more this week from them. I hunted in the 371 unit last year and was pretty impressed with the amount of elk I saw. Those mountain ranges (Eagles Nest to Flat Tops) definitly hold a lot of nice bulls.

I'm not looking at a map right now but I think I'm close to where you're wanting to hunt?
