Man on Fire
Man Set On Fire During Argument
A Detroit man was set on fire during a dispute with his girlfriend Sunday. The man went to his girlfriend's home on Steel Street at about 1:20 p.m. and had an argument with her over loud music played by her children, police said. The man then took a shower, and when he was done, the woman poured gasoline on him and set him on fire, according to police. The man set other items on fire as he ran through the home, Local 4 learned. The house was destroyed by the flames. The victim was transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital where he was listed in temporary serious condition, Local 4 reported. The woman was taken into police custody. article

I live in the suburbs a little ways outside of Detroit.
As Lilred stated in her past post, Things around here have changed. There used to be land and space around to "Get away" from the psycho-ward that Detroit has become(since the 68-69 riots). Even that is/has become almost impossible. I own a small cabin & land about 2 1/2 hours away (Up North) but I can see that, even that is only a temporary respite from these so called "People". My parents grew up and went to collage in Detroit. My grandmother was an organist for Jesu Parish for over 41 years. I grew up spending My summers in deepest darkest Detroit...... Having said all of this, I feel Detroit and the other cities like it, In my opinion, are/should be a complete write off. They are in a word unfixable. If one could erect a giant wall and let them destroy themselves, I'd run the mixer for the mortar. And the "disease" is spreading. I only hope I can someday afford to move far enough away to live out the remainder of My life in relative peace & quiet. Tall Shadow |
