I'll have to try an remember to watch that. I always enjoy watching it, usually don't remember. Always get to see some good dog work when you do though. Thanks Doc.

This will be the first time that WRC will have been shown on TV. WRC is a combination of Field Trial work, Field Test work and Hunt Test work.

I don't remember what the name of the show was, and no I'm not thinking of the ESPN Games, although I like watching the dog work there too, but they have these dogs working about a 10 or 15 acre section of land to test their scentability, their sightability, their huntability and their retrievability. They get a certain number of points for each thing they do and deductions for things they don't do. The couple of times I seen it, it was for labs only. This isn't what you're talking about?
Now I have seen the shows where the hunt clubs allow any dog and they are timed on how fast they can get three birds, they get points for how many shells used , how many points, how many retrieves, but thats something different

I watched the show tonight and I must say that I was somewhat disappointed that Ready and Alex Washburn ended up winning. I just didn't like the fact that she appeared so serious about all this. To me, it is all about having fun, but I just hate it when Nitro doesn't listen.

Anyway, I was really routing for Nike and Elvis, maybe because they are yellows like Nitro.

Who else watched it and what did you guys think about it?

Question:

What is a retired bird?

Alex is always "serious" lookin -- but I assure you she was ahving fun. BUT for a 1st Prize of $25,ooo, I'd be a bit serious too.

It isn't a "Retired Bird", it's a "Retired Gun". It's where the gunner is in sight of the dog when the shot takes place, but then "retires" (hides from the dog) -- this can cause the dog to "forget the picture" of the area of fall.

I finally got to see it. It was on over the weekend. It was very much like the one I was describing, only more dogs and more handlers. I really thought that Nike might take it. Didn't realize that I was watching a show that had already aired until it was over with. It was still fun to watch.

Nulle I agree the National Birddog Challenge is the one I use to watch too. Don't get it anymore, but really enjoyed it.

I was really routing for Nike and his handler. I figured he was an underdog, no pun intended, since his handler was an amateur and not a professional trainer.

The 2nd Place dog (Dusty) is the one to keep your eyes on in the future.
