7/30 Waters
Does anyone have any first hand experience with a 7/30 in a 16 inch Contender Carbine bbl? I am particularly interested in the 140 Gr. Nosler Partition bullet.

How's this? LINK
I still have the 14" Contender barrel, and it's still one of my favorites. The Model 94 is long gone, though. I'd lean to the 120-gr bullets simply because of the slightly higher velocity and flatter trajectory, but there's nothing wrong with the "thump" of the 140s. I shot 'em all and now seldom load anything but 120s in mine. It keeps the sight-in situation a lot simpler, too.

Thanks for the response Rocky.. What kind of velocity are you getting with the 120's in your 14" bbl?

Oh gee...I'm 500 miles from home right now, and I don't trust my memory for stuff like that. Haven't put one of those over the chrono since I did the article, either.
I just shoot it for fun, now.
