looking for a 700 rem adl part

i had the local gun store owner to work on this 700 for me and he found that the spring that goes under the magazine is broke i cant figure this out i have never had the gun apart and to my knowledge has never been apart but either way the spring that fits under the silver slide bar that the cartridges lay on in the box is broken - it really doesnt matter to me because i shoot one at a time and put one in chamber and shoot so unless i put 3 or 4 in it i dont think it matters but i hate having something broke - even though it wont matter i still know its there lol - if someone has one laying around they would like to part with or know where one can be had i sure would appreciate it - this is out of a 204 ruger caliber 700adl remington rifle if that makes a difference thanks scoot smgchandler@yadtel.net

thanks indy great site and i saw what i am looking for - its that part #34 the flat S shaped spring that lays in bottom of the magazine - the only problem is i am not sure which number to pick - i dont see a 204 listed but 204 is almost the same size as 243 and 22-250 so do you think that spring would work - i hate to guess - i did email the site for help but they havent got back to me yet - may take them a few days - have you ever emailed them - just wondering what kind of response if any ya get - thanks for the link scoot

Why not contact remington with your problem. Not only will they have the right part, but they might even send it to you free. That's called good customer service.

PJ good customer service LOL sorry but you wont believe why i need to get this part fixed - my dad bought this rifle and its only had maybe 200 rounds through it and out of those 200 i have still yet to get it to group - thats using different scopes different factory and home loads different shooters heck different everything - i did ask remington about it but i am afraid i am too late to send it back to them - i had the trigger worked on bedded and barrel floated by a gunsmith - well the gunsmith said it would shoot after he got done with it but guess what he said it was the scope but its not - i dont know what it is but i do know one thing-- after i put this spring in its gonna go to the next gun show for a new owner that can make it shoot because i cant and yes i have read that this gun will shoot and in the right hands it may but i am done with it so i have wrote to remington and am waiting on their response so once i get the spring fixed i will give it a kiss and let it ride - i still have the 204 encore barrel so i am not missing out on anything but so far its not shooting so great either - anyhow thanks for the advice and anyone want a 204 that wont shoot scoot

I dunno if it is too late or not. I know people bed and float and all that to rifles all the time and the MFTR still does work on some of them. I bet if it is shooting as bad as you say it is there might be something wrong with the barrel and if you contact Remington they just may replace it. Of course you'd wind up having to ship them the gun but at least you could give them a fair chance to fix the gun before passing judgement on thier Customer Service.
