835 1 1/4oz vs 1 oz
Using a red dot scope on 835 slug gun and shooting 3" 1oz gives me good placement on target out to my 50yd mark but when I use 1 1/4 oz and making the adjustment for weight, placement on target is something else... I don't know if it is just me or the rounds..maybe the gun just don't like 1 1/4 oz....but this is wanted for an upcommong bear trip next wk...would the 1 oz be heavy enough for bear out to 50 yds?....I wanted the heavy slug but won't give up the accuracy....would I be better off taking the 7mm instead?....Help! ! !

Use the 1 oz...It'll do the ol b'ar in for certain. and a quick follow up if needed.

I wouldn't hesitate to use a 1 oz. slug on a black bear. You should try some of the Federal Barnes Expanders. They are awesome and they are really accurate out of my slug gun. However, that is only if you do not want to keep the pelt/hide.
